How is Community Foundation's Bequest Program Different?

• using the Community Foundation's bequest endowment program allows a charity to plan for a secure future from regular, annual contributions
  

How does the Community Foundation Bequest Endowment work?

• you may leave a fixed sum, % of your estate, or the remainder of your estate to the Community Foundation
  
  
• Community Foundation establishes a permanent endowment fund named as you have designated
  
  
• Community Foundation distributes 5% of the fund's value (as valued December 31 of the prior year) to the charities you have named
  
  
• you may specify that each charity will receive the same % of the annual distribution or you may indicate a different % for each charity
  Ex: 1) 4 charities receive 25% of the total distributed
  Ex: 2) 4 charities receive 50%, 25%, 12.5% and 12.5% of the total distributed
  
  
• income in excess of the 5% distributed is added back to the principal annually
  
  
• Community Foundation retains a 1% fee (for funds over $100,000) and a 2% fee (for funds under $100,000).
